My name is Mateo Diaz Torres, and gloomtrain is my blog. I write about old school tabletop roleplaying games, usually Dungeons & Dragons and its ilk. I like my rpgs with postcolonialism, anime, insane fairies, factions, demonology, magic schools, high chance of player death, overt , vampires, witches, trains, and a lingering sense of unease.

My current project is Pernicious Albion, a shamelessly ahistorical not-Britain where the Romans never quite left, the pagans never really gave up, and the aristocracy keep sterling silver sacrificial daggers with the fine china. I want it to feel like an absinthe dream Jane Austen might have if she fell asleep reading Milton and Spenser. You can read all my Albion posts here.
